Rep. Jenkins-Arno supports effort to increase public safety funding
RELEASE|April 22, 2025

State Rep. Nancy Jenkins-Arno, R-Rollin Township, supports the increase of public safety funding and strengthening law enforcement efforts across Michigan. The House passed the Public Safety Trust Fund plan, which allocates $115 million statewide to support safety initiatives.

“This is about making sure every Michigan resident feels safe in their neighborhood — not just today, but for years to come,” said Jenkins-Arno. “By investing in our local law enforcement, we’re not only addressing immediate safety concerns, but we’re also laying the foundation for stronger, safer, and more connected communities. When people feel protected, they feel empowered, and that’s when communities truly thrive.”

The plan will provide vital funding for local safety grants and violence prevention programs, allowing communities to invest in cutting-edge technology, expanded officer training, and effective community policing strategies.

“Our police departments have faced serious recruitment and retention challenges over the past few years,” said Jenkins-Arno. “This funding gives departments the stability and resources they need to attract the best officers, keep them well-trained, and ensure they have what they need to serve with confidence and compassion. It’s an investment in peace of mind, and in the future of Michigan families.”
